Each year the World Economic Forum selects Young Global Leaders (YGLs)–the most enterprising, innovative, socially minded, and exceptional leaders under the age of 40 from across the globe. Announced on March 16, 2016, this year’s class of 121 YGLs is split evenly between business and not-for-profit sectors and includes a range of talent from scientists and entrepreneurs to politicians and artists. Some of the notables include Chih-Han Yu, a world class researcher in Artificial Intelligence from Taiwan and Amal Clooney, a barrister with an outstanding reputation for her work towards the defense of international human rights. Read the announcement and meet the Class of 2016.
On Thursday, March 17th, we welcomed the new New York-based YGLs at an intimate gathering by the Hudson River. We have a diverse local group such as Aria Finger, CEO of DoSomething.org, Monica Yunus, Co-Founder and Co-Executive Director of Sing for Hope and Rohit Chopra, Managing Director of Lazard. I’m proud to be YGL Class of 2009 and look forward to meeting more of these global change agents as the year goes on.
