Listen to this week’s message:
As acclaimed Brazilian footballer Pelé said, “A great player is a player who can do everything on the field. He can do assists, encourage his colleagues, give them confidence to go forward. It is someone who, when a team does not do well, becomes one of the leaders.”
In life, what kind of team player are you? Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as Pelé, is regarded by many to be the best soccer player of all time. He won three FIFA World Cups and is listed in the Guinness World Records for the most career goals scored in football with a total of 1281 goals in 1363 games. Though he had tremendous individual skill, he has been quoted as saying ‘the only way to win is as a team.’ He wasn’t just playing for himself, he wanted to do his best for the Brazilian people. He inspired others with his upbeat personality and energy. In the spirit of Pelé, score for the team. Look for opportunities to take the lead and edify others. If you see something is not going right, step up to change it. If a friend needs fortitude, lend a hand. Do your best and recognize that we’re all playing this game of life and need teammates who can help us succeed. If those around you win, so do you.
Until next time, remember – it’s your divine life, live it to the fullest. The power is in your hands!
With Purpose & Power,
