Be A “Feel-Good” Person

As Maya Angelou said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

How do you make others feel? Some people have the ability to simply make you happy. Their energy is magnetic. You feel special in their presence. Being around them puts a smile on your face. Other people may say the right things but don’t leave the same impression. They may be quickly forgettable or even toxic – saying they have your back but always making you feel put down or not good enough. How would your friends and colleagues describe you? Every day, seek to be a “feel-good” person. Make a practice of actively listening. Lead with love and kindness by looking for the good in other people or situations. Show genuine interest and compassion. If you make a human connection versus simply furthering your own agenda, you will be the person others want to be around and your halo effect will be a magnet for positive people and experiences.
