THE BUZZ: On Friday, August 23rd, 2013, I had lunch at the famous Moosewood Restaurant in Ithaca, NY. We were celebrating my nephew Daniel’s move-in to Cornell University. It was his food recommendation – and a good one! I had always wanted to eat there. Bon Appetit magazine named it one of the thirteen most influential restaurants of the 20th century – for good reason.
Their menu changes every day, based on what’s local, fresh and in season. Below was today’s fare. My choice was simple, but very delicious: Thai Noodle Salad, North African Split Pea Soup and Carrot-Ginger Juice. It was the absolute best vegetarian meal I think I’ve ever had!
If you can’t make it up to Ithaca, check out their website for some recipes and/or the Moosewood cookbooks. One I really like is Sundays at Moosewood Restaurant.
